Story is an important factor in a fantasy/adventure film like this. It is worth it to see the entire film just to watch the scene between Gollum and Bilbo, itвЂ™s that good. His unpredictable nature is wonderful, and he is expertly acted. Gollum is the best effect I have ever witnessed in film, and his emotions are remarkable. However, the star of the film is Andy Serkis (Gollum), who steals the show, despite only appearing in one fairly lengthy scene. The only way toВ differentiate among them is through theirВ appearance, which is fantastically diverse. Most of them do not receive a proper introduction, and the majority only have a few lines throughout the film. It is nearly impossible toВ differentiate between the dwarfs, even if you are making a substantial effort. Unfortunately, the 13 dwarfs suffer from character development, or lack thereof. Throughout the film you will gleefully root for Thorin to trust and accept Bilbo, who reluctantly joined the journey. The leader of the elves, Thorin ( Richard Armitage), does a great job as well, being a powerful leader with strong, admirable values. The film has some outstanding acting, with Ian McKellen providing a stand-out performance as Gandalf, being both a strong and entertaining leader. Unfortunately, the adventure is filled with numerous side-adventures, some of which drag on too long. It continues with a captivating adventure, which is surely worth going to theaters to see. A nice homage featuring Ian Holm and Elijah Wood from the old trilogy helps you to remember The Shire and refamiliarize yourselfВ with the franchise. The ambiance in general is incredible, combining outstanding makeup, special effects, music, and sets to create a captivating setting. It makes it easy to immerse yourself in Middle Earth. The best example of this is Radagast ( Sylvester McCoy), who receives a significant part of the film, featuring him as the main character.The film of course will, and has been, compared to the Lord of The Rings trilogy, creating extremely high expectations.ДЇrom the beginning, it is clear that the cinematography is incredible. Of course, this has resulted in much filler, and embellishment of parts of the novel that were extremely short. This 310 page adventure has been changed into an epic film trilogy, with вЂњ An Unexpected JourneyвЂќ being the first.

The film follows Bilbo Baggins ( Martin Freeman) as he goes on an adventure with a bakerвЂ™s dozen of dwarfs and a wizard, Gandalf ( Ian McKellen), as they try to reclaim the dwarfsвЂ™ mountain from the dragon, Smaug.

This is not the first time that the classic has been made into a film, as it was most notably made into an animated movie in 1977. Peter Jackson returned to the franchise, set to direct this trilogy, as he did with the last one. Following the tremendous success of the Lord Of Rings films, which ended on a high note, winning the Oscar for Best Picture, it was a logical step to adapt The Hobbit into a feature film as well. Tolkein, The Hobbit is a classic 1937 novel, that serves as a prequel to The Lord Of The Rings trilogy. I respect differing opinions, and discussions with comments by people who both agree and disagree with my views, just please be respectful back.
